Port Blair, Nov 09: The Human Rights Organization today highlighted the problems of Mohanpura area infront of the Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration.
In a letter addressed to the CS, Mr C.Saravanan, General Secretary, HRO, Port Blair said that the road from State Bank of India, Main Branch to Marine Post Office is in worst condition. The area becomes the land of potholes after every spell of rain and this is the reason why the paid parking place and private bus stand is in horrible condition. “The School going children and senior citizen using this road are at great risk,” Mr. Saravanan added.
Further Mr Saravanan added that the labourers, tourists and local people are using open toilet as there is no facilities of pay & use toilet service in the Private Bus Stand.
“Most of the private busses are parking their bus hapazardly and never park the bus in a systematic way. The area has become the den of alcoholic person,” Mr Saravanan added. Hence, Mr Saravanan requested the CS to look into the matter and demanded to take immediate steps on public interest.
