Port Blair, Oct 25: Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) (SA)/ People for Animal (PFA) (AU) Member Secretary, Dr. P. M. Murali today rescued a male calf on the road which was hit by an APWD Truck on a road at Sippighat.
As per detail, the truck driver had escaped the place of the accident along with 05 laborers on it. However, Dr. P. M. Murali who happened to be in the nearby vicinity coincidentally rushed to the spot at Sippighat. He learnt that the driver without bothering for the tiny innocent voiceless had left the place. Immediately Dr. Murali chased the truck and found them at Garacharma. He asked the driver to take the calf to the hospital and leave him to the Shiv Colony Cattle pound or else be ready to face section 428 of IPC.
Later the driver turned his truck and reached the site again and took the calf for treatment at Bathubasti, and later it was admitted at the said Cattle pound for its care ahead. Dr. Murali has lauded the efforts of Mr. Sanjay & his friend who daringly intercepted the truck driver & informed the former.
