Port Blair, Oct 24: Andaman and Nicobar Fire Unit as part of the Police Commemoration week in an attempt to disseminate awareness on fire safety and risk prevention, as deeply as possible into the society reached out to the entrepreneurs and conducted an online training programme on “First Aid Fire Fighting” and best practices in fire safety and prevention on 23/10/2021. During the training session awareness was provided on origin & classification of fire, type of fire extinguishers, its operational techniques and the various evacuation procedure to be adopted during emergency, and the necessary fire fighting paraphernalia needed in their establishments etc. The participants also clarified their doubts during the interactive session.
Apart from the above, the A&N Fire Service will conduct similar online Fire Safety training programmes from 25th to 30th October, 2021.
