Port Blair, Oct 19: A delegation of the South Andaman Teachers’ Branch of the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association met the Secretary (Education), Dr. Angel Bhati Chauhan, IAS today and discussed various issues pertaining to teachers working in Education Department.
The delegation led by Mr. P.Jay Murthy, Secretary of branch brought to the notice of the Secretary (Education), the issue of non-posting of Principals and Vice Principals in schools and filling up of vacant posts of teachers in Education Department, which has badly affected the smooth functioning of schools in these islands.
The Delegation also highlighted various other issues which include (i) delay in Annual General Transfer 2021 (ii) delay in Promotion of Post Graduate Teachers (iii) Regularisation of Ad-hoc services of teachers etc.
As per the release issued by NGGOA, the Secretary (Education) after giving a patient hearing to the members of the delegation reportedly assured of early settlement of the issues raised by the Association. The delegation also included Mr. K.S.Sunish, Treasurer, Mr. Shyam Sunder, Organising Secretary and Mr. P.Srinivasa Rao, Organising Secretary.
