Port Blair, Oct 18: A delegation of Congress unit of Baratang Island today called on the Director of Transport and demanded change in departure timing of STS D1 bus from Baratang. The delegation demanded change in time from 2.30 PM to morning 6.30 AM convoy from Baratang to Port Blair and return of D1 Express Bus to Baratang from Port Blair at 2.30 PM convoy.
The Delegation consisted of ex-Zilla Parishad member of Baratang Mr. R Alager Swami, ex-Pradhan Mr. Roy Goerge and ex-PRI Member Mr. Manoj Kumar Barla.
The delegation also highlighted that in case of evening D1 bus timing from Baratang the villagers were facing a lot of trouble because since morning they used to come to Baratang STS office from remote villages for tickets and since till late afternoon they had to wait for bus that too only if the tickets are confirmed.
As per delegation, the Director of Transport has reportedly assured to change the timing of the D1 express bus from tomorrow onwards.
