Port Blair, Oct 03: Hundreds of residents of Shaheed Dweep who have opted for Airtel SIM over BSNL are now finding themselves in big trouble as since last nearly one month the Airtel mobile network is giving nightmare to them.
According to the residents, the mobile network of Airtel has simply vanished from Shaheed Dweep. Once in a while, the networks appear for few minutes or hours and then again disappears.
Residents complain that they have taken up this issue with Airtel officials at Port Blair but nothing has been done so far to restore the network.
As Airtel network is simply not available residents have to depend on BSNL network, which is already giving hiccups to Islanders of Shaheed Dweep due to its unbelievably slow mobile data speed.
Now the residents are requesting to the Administration intervene in this matter and direct the Airtel to restore mobile network in Shaheed Dweep.
Andaman Sheekha tried to contact Airtel Officials at Port Blair to know the reason behind such poor service but they were unavailable for a comment.
