Port Blair, Sept 17: Mr. Vishal Jolly, Former State President & Core-Committee Member, BJP A & N Islands & Member, Home Ministry Advisory Committee, GoI wrote a letter to Chief Secretary, A & N Administration demanded filling up of all academic and non-academic posts in the Department of Education, A & N Islands.
In his letter Mr. Jolly wrote that the development work in the Islands has come to a standstill due to COVID-19 pandemic it has had a great impact on the common people of these Islands. But with the cooperation of the Administration and the Islanders we have been able to control the pandemic completely and draw the attention towards the difficulties being faced by un-employed educated youth of this territory
He further added that due to COVID-19 since last 2019 to till now there are many youth whose age have been crossed and over age to compete the Govt. Jobs, at the same time there are number of youths who are on the verge of over age. But still they are hoping to get an opportunity to get Government job under this UT Administration.
He further pointed out that according to the reliable source approximate 800 posts are lying vacant in the Academic and Non-academic category in the Department of Education, such as Post Graduate Teacher (PGT), Graduate Trained Teacher (GTT), Primary school Teacher (PST), Physical Education Teacher (PET) Craft Instructor Gr. I, Librarian Gr. II, Librarian Gr. III & Laboratory Assistant etc. since long back.
Concluding in his letter he mentioned that recently administration has ordered to resume regular classes from class-VI to VII which may attract the same issue of shortage of teachers of the above categories. Keeping in view the above issue necessary direction may kindly issue to take immediate process of filling up of all the existing vacant posts at the earliest.
