Port Blair, Nov 06: Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, PCC has requested to the Lt Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands to enhance the pension amount of Widow, Old age personnel, and handicapped etc from Rs. 1000/- per month to Rs. 3000/- per month.
In a letter addressed to the Lt Governor, Mr Sharma stated that with this Small amount of pension of Rs 1000/- per month which at present is being disbursed to them, it become very difficult for them to meet their day to day expenditure.
Further Mr Sharma also requested the Lt Governor to consider disbursement of Pension by first week of every month as is being done in the case of Government Servants. The delayed disbursement of pension is disappointing widow, old age personnel and physically challenged people.
