Port Blair, Apr 04: Taking forward the campaign of “Save Seed, Plant Trees” launched by Mr. Jitendra Narain, the Chief Secretary of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Hindu Seva Sangh along with the Dept. of Environment and Forest planted 60 saplings of the Fruit bearing and flowering plants in the premises of Dweep Bharti Hindu Dharma Pratisthan ( Sree Radha Krishna Mandir, Complex, Wimberlygunj on 31/07/21.
Necessary tree guards were placed around each saplings and each members of Hindu Seva Sangh were assigned to look after three plants, until they grow up. Mr. V.V.Dinesh Kumar, ACF and Mr. S.K.Roy, Ranger Officer, Manarghat Range under DFO Wimberlygunj along with Deputy Ranger and Camp Officer and others staffs of DFO Wimberlygunj were also present.
Mr. Abhay Kumar, Convener, Hindu Seva Sangh along with 23 members of HSS including youths and children were also present and actively participated in the plantation drive. Dr. Ankita Banrjee, Medical Officer, Wimberlygunj and Mr. Satyanaryan, “The Green Man” r/o. Kanyapuram also planted tree saplings. It also marked the closing of month long program of “Van Mahotsav” by the Dept. of Environment and Forest.
