Port Blair, Aug 01: Mr. Abhi Bhusan Ghosh, the State Youth President of Yuva Lok Janshakti Party has urged to regulate air fare in Port Blair sector and demanded more flights in port Blair (IXZ) sector.
In a letter addressed to Jyotiraditya Scindia Union Minister for Civil Aviation Delhi, State Youth President (YLJP) said that the people of Andaman and Nicobar Islands are facing great difficulties due to non availability of flights. Also, the flights that are available are charging a nominal fare of 25000 INR which is impossible for islanders to pay and carry on the journey.
“As Andaman Nicobar is a far-flung group of islands, we have no connectivity with mainland apart from flight services. The unavailability of flights and also the price surge has now made it difficult for the islanders”, he added.
The State Youth President (YLJP) has urged to regulate the prices so that islanders going for medical treatments or any emergency work can travel in nominal fare.
