Port Blair, July 26: In order to achieve the envisaged vision of Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to transform Andaman as a Community Garden of Fruits & Vegetable, which will provide food security to all in these Islands, the Director Shipping Services Capt Ashuthosh Pandey alongwith Deputy Director (SS) Mr. R Veeriah, and other officials of Directorate of Shipping Services joined the campaign by planting the saplings of fruit bearing trees such as Guava, Cashew and Java Plum, in the Park inside the campus of DSS on 26th July 2021.
Similar plantation of sapling was also undertaken inside the dockyard complex by the officials and staff of dockyard. In the coming days, the Directorate will carry out such endeavours in further larger scale to make the mission “no one should sleep empty stomach” successful.
