Port Blair, Oct 28: A Dharna Demonstration was conducted by CPI(M) Party at Billyground Bazar. The Dharna Demonstration started from 9am onwards and continued till 4pm. In the Dharna Programme Mr. Tapan Bepary and other State level & District level party officials and common supporters had participated. The main objectives of the Dharna was to oppose the FDI Scheme of Central Govt. and to urge the government to continue the subsidy on LPG Cylinder, fertilizer for the development of the Agriculturists.
CPI (M) workers also demanded for formation Assembly in Andaman. Besides this they demanded that Administration should immediately remove the settlement area from Buffer Zone. They also demanded construction of two Major Bridges at Baratang and Kadamtal areas. Many other important issues were also raised during the Dharna.
After the end of the Dharna Programme a public meeting also held at the Billyground Bazar.
Advocate cum CPI(M) leader Shri Tapan Bepari stated that the Present Govt. has failed to do anything for the benefit and welfare of the People. “The UPA Govt has become a Govt. of Corruption,” he said.
