Port Blair, May 13: Even after registering complaint against some people in forceful eviction case of Great Nicobar, no visible action has been taken by authorities yet, against the mob.
Mr Saddam, an occupant of those eight houses, which were removed by the mob, informed Andaman Sheekha Daily that today they were ordered to present in front of Assistant Commissioner of Campbell Bay regarding an inquiry in the said case.
A panel of 4 officers, Assistant Commissioner Campbell Bay Mr. Lalita Tigga (BDO), AC Car Nicobar, Mr. Aditya Jha (DANICS), DYSP Campbell Bay, SHO Mr Aditya Narayan, reportedly interrogated them but the officers asked the victims to remove their belongings from the said eviction site.
When questioned, the Assistant Commissioner Campbell Bay, Mrs Lalita Tigga told Andaman Sheekha Daily that the inquiry is in progress and the culprits will not be spared.
Further Andaman Sheekha spoke to Assistant Commissioner of Car Nicobar Mr. Aditya Jha (DANICS) who is on special duty to maintain Covid-19 protocols said that the Administration and police department is doing its part and the Revenue Department is enquiring the case and will take action as per COVID protocols.
