Port Blair, Apr 28: A private worker who was carrying out some welding works in MV Jollybouy Boat, berthed at Junglighat Jetty, suffered serious burn injuries yesterday.
According to reports while working his leg touched a box, containing some chemicals, which busted on touch and the chemical inside the box spread all over. The Private worker, Mr. Alexander Dung Dung reportedly suffered chemical burns due to the blast. Other workers present nearby, called an ambulance and he was rushed to hospital. At G B Pant he has been admitted to Burns Ward. Later a complaint has been lodged against the supervisor for negligence and allowing such dangerous works without proper protections.
