Port Blair, Apr 26: In order to enforce strict compliance of the National Directives on COVID-19 in South Andaman District and to prevent the further spread of infection, the District Commissioner of South Andaman, Mr. Suneel Anchipaka has ordered suspension of passenger convoys in the Andaman Trunk Road (Nation Highway 4) for transit to North and Middle Andaman with effect from 28 April 2021 to till further order.
The Andaman Trunk Road Connects South Andaman with entire North and Middle Andaman and with this move the Administration is trying to protect North and Middle Andaman from spread of COVID-19 infection.
However there will be relaxation for emergency cases and essential services as well as supplies.
