Port Blair, Apr 15: Police Station of Kadamtala registered a case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act on 13th April 2021 where a 57-year-old man was arrested for impregnating a 15-year-old minor girl.
As per report the minor girl of Middle Andaman had gone for treatment at nearby Hospital where the doctor found her pregnant, following which the matter was informed to Police. Subsequently a POCSO case was registered at PS Kadamtala
It was learnt that the case was thoroughly investigated by Senior Inspector Mrs. Egnes Bartholma, after the investigation it has come to the light that 57-year-old granduncle of the victim had allegedly raped her and threatened her not to disclose this matter to anyone.
However on completion of investigation the accused confessed his guilt and was produced before the Hon’ble CJM court at Mayabunder and was sent to 14 days Judicial Custody it was learnt.
