Port Blair, Oct 18: Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, PCC requested the Lt Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands to consider an well equipped stadium under all Panchayats of these Islands for playing football, cricket, Hockey and a room within the complex for playing indoor games like table tennis and badminton so that the youths who don’t find suitable place for playing these games, may have the opportunity to get trained.
In a letter addressed to the Lt Governor Mr Sharma stated that if the youths of these islands are given proper opportunity, they can prove themselves at National level in all the fields. One of such fields is sports and the young sportsperson of these islands have already proved their capability in many such events at National level.
“This will not only prepare good players/team for the islands but some unemployed youth will also get scope for employment as coaches besides, these youths will have a good health and spirit of sportsmanship,”. Mr Sharma added.
