Port Blair, Feb 24: Every year International Women’s Day is celebrated on 8th March to recognize and honour the contribution of women in society. This year, the United Nations has proposed the theme “Women Leadership in Agriculture: Achieving an equal future in COVID-19 world” for celebration of the event. In line with the proposed theme, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi has decided to celebrate the day on the theme “Women Leadership in Agriculture: Entrepreneurship, Equity and Empowerment”. On this occasion, ICAR-Central Island Agricultural Research Institute, Port Blair is organizing different competitions for students as detailed below.

Interested participants should send their entries (scanned copies of paintings/ handwritten essays) along with a copy of their school or college identity cards to the email poojabohra24@gmail.com. Participants can also submit their entries in hard copy to Dr. Pooja Bohra, Scientist in charge, Women’s Cell, ICAR-CIARI. In either case, entries should reach us on or before March 1, 2021 by 4:00 p.m. First three winners in each category will be rewarded in the function to be organized on March 8, 2021 at the Institute. All the participants will receive participation certificate.
