Port Blair, Oct 16: Most of the prominent Political Parities of A & N Island today organized a one day long Dharna atTirangaPark, during which all the parties targeted the Lt. Governor and Congress.
Leaders of Bhartiya Janta Party, Communist Party of India, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, A & N Island Trinamool Congress, Telugu Desam Party, DMDK termed the tenure of present Lt. Governor as ‘Dictatorship’ and raised voice against various corruption cases.
In the protest meeting, the members of All Political Party demanded to set up Assembly in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, to remove the present Lt Governor from the Islands, to grant appropriate cash compensation and give land against submerged agriculture land of Tsunami affected farmers, to regularize encroachments and to check and control the price hike in diesel, LPG, Kerosene oil and essential commodities etc.
Further all political party members also demanded to withdraw the Yacht Marina Project fromViperIslandand to declareViperIslandas National Monument.
