Pahargaon jointly conducted an awareness programme on “Child Safety” at Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Rangachang. The main objective of the programme was to sensitize and make children aware about their personal safety and appropriate behavior. A total of 73 students and 24 teachers attended the programme. Shri Michael Raj, Vice Principal, SI Abdul Manaf, SI Arthi Roy of PTS and SI Shilpi Singha of PS Pahargaon delivered lectures on all aspects of child safety highlighting good touch and bad touch, online cyber safety, ill effect of Drug etc.
N&M Andaman District celebrated the day with organizing an awareness programme on POCSO and “Good touch, bad touch” at Rangat. A counselor from District Child Protection Unit was also invited to the programme to make the children aware on the topic of good touch bad touch. Cleanliness activities were taken up by the police staff of Billiground and Kadamtala. A competition was organized in PS Mayabunder and Kalighat to test the weapon handling skills of the police personnel.
The staff of PS Car Nicobar and SP District Office organized a painting competition on the theme “Traffic Management” at GSSS Malacca. Around 50 students of Class IX to XI participated in the competition and the winners in both girls and boys category were awarded with trophies and certificates. Similarly, “5km Run for Nation”, demonstration on awareness on self-defence, POCSO Acts, Traffic Rules & Regulations was also conducted by PS Nancowrie. PS Campbell Bay conducted a Fishermen Watchgroup Meeting and Open Badminton Competition was inaugurated by SDPO Campbell Bay. PS Teressa conducted Painting Competition for the school students. Fishermen Watchgroup Meeting to validate Coastal Security and Tree Plantation at PS premises were conducted at Katchal.
Tomorrow (21/01/2021), A&N police will be organising a brass and pipe band show alongwith PET at Carbyns Cove Beach, a lecture on road safety will be conducted by traffic unit, a cleanliness drive under Swatch Bharat Abhiyan will be carried out at South Andaman District. North & Middle Andaman District will be organising a sports & quiz competition for school children. Drawing, badminton and volley ball match will be organized at Nicobar District as a part of police week celebrations.
