Port Blair, Jan 20: One member of Onge Tribe, Mr. Bhalla, 70 years, who was tested mild positive recently, has know been tested negative in RT-PCR test conducted today. This is great news for the safety of Onge Tribes from COVID-19 infection.
As per details earlier RT-PCR test was carried out on Mr. Bhalla, a member of Onge Tribe, as a precaution, before sending him back to Onge Settlement area of Little Andaman after treatment in Port Blair.
As per detail, Mr. Bhalla is paralyzed and was sent to Little Andaman on 13 January 2021 from Port Blair, with two other members of Onge Community, after treatment.
Since then, he was in PHC R K Pur and before sending him back in Onge Settlement, when the RT-PCR tests were conducted on all three, two were found negative while Mr. Bhalla was detected mild positive, which was considered as inconclusive result and hence a retest was carried out today.
