Hut Bay, Dec 29: People visiting Port Blair from Little Andaman are supposed to undergo Rapid Antigen Test at ALHW recreational center, Hut Bay before boarding a ship or helicopter.
But public alleged that outside the ALHW Recreational Hall, Hut Bay, which is being used as Rapid Antigen Test, there is no shed available for public and hence general public, including children, old aged people and women have to stand in open under scorching sun or rain for hours.
This causes, huge inconvenience to public as due to heavy rush one has to stand for several hours in queue outside the ALHW Recreational Hall, Hut Bay.
When contacted, a senior officer of Little Andaman said that with the consultation of Doctors now it is being planned to open RAT testing points at R K Pur area also, which will reduce the crown in one place and hence there will be less inconvenience to public.
When asked why the officials of Little Andaman can’t provide temporary shed for the public as it was done by District Administration at Ferrargunj, the senior officer assured to look for any such possibility, for the convenience of public.
