Port Blair, Dec 27: The most awaited internet service, FTTH is finally launched at Campbell Bay at the office of VCN Zero Point in the simple opening ceremony organised on 24 December 2020 at 6:30 PM.
In the opening ceremony Mr. Vikram Singh S/o Harmeet Kaur the 1st FTTH customer of Campbell Bay was present along with the JTO Papesh Padhare, JE Mukesh Kumar (BSNL) and the service provider Mr. Rahul Singh.
The FTTH user is presently getting a speed 13 Mbps at Campbell Bay.
FTTH Service provider Rahul Singh sincerely thanked the BSNL and Nicobar Administration for providing this opportunity to the residents of Campbell Bay.
It was a long pending demand and recently a strike was organised by the residents of Island for demanding internet connectivity. The DC Car Nicobar had then assured people of Campbell Bay that the internet service will be provided in the month of January, following which the protest was called off.
People are now happy that instead of January the islanders have got 4G and FTTH connectivity in the month of December 2020.
