Port Blair, Dec 21: The Week long AICTE mandatory induction program culminated today, The key highlight of the Induction program was a holistic approach to sensitize the newly inducted students with the institute and transformational shift from school to Highrer Education. Towards the culminating part of the program, Dr. Utpal Sharma, Principal DBRAIT addressed the students by sharing his personal experience of his childhood.
He emphasized that Parents and Guru should be respected. He encouraged the students to take up the engineering as challenge. The students should own the college and keep the surroundings clean and added that the rules and regulations should be followed strictly. Prior to this, the students were made to do yoga and meditation on daily basis by the expert from AYUSH.
Awareness through audio/ video on cyber crime by the expert from the cyber cell of Police Department was also done. The sensitization programs on substance abuse, by expert from DHS, Innovation and Idea generation by faculty member, awareness on AICTE Pragati and Saksham Scholarship scheme, Patriotism by the Army Officers, dissemination of information on MOOCS, proficiency modules/soft skill (Body language) and Energy and Water conservation were also held in the ongoing induction program during the last three days.
Human value concept for the holistic development of the student’s society and environment was also carried on by the faculty members.
