Campbell Bay, Dec 15: On 13 December morning at around 09:20 AM an information was received by the acting Assistant Commissioner of Great Nicobar, Mrs. Lalita Tigga from Police Radio staffs of Afra Bay Island, that a tribal lady is in a critical condition and experiencing difficulty in breathing.
Acting swiftly on this distress message, the matter was communicated to the CMO of PHC Campbell Bay, Dr. Sarika and immediately the CMO sent a team of 02 CHO to rescue the patient in MV Strait Island (speed boat). The speed boat sailed from Campbell Bay at 11.20 AM and the patient was finally brought back to Campbell Bay from Afra Bay by 06.15 PM in the evening.
After reaching Campbell Bay the patient was given due medical care and later the 54-year-old female patient was diagnosed with a known case of Bronchial Asthama and Hypertension.
After proper care and treatment provided by the PHC Campbell Bay team, the patient now reportedly responding well and is stable. People of Great Nicobar, especially Afra Bay have lauded the efforts of the acting Assistant Commissioner of Great Nicobar and also the entire team of PHC Campbell Bay.
