Port Blair, Dec 15: Striking once again on drug peddlers, the Police Station Central Crime Station of A&N Police today arrested one person with nearly 400 grams of Charas.
Charas is a hashish form of cannabis made from the resin of the cannabis plant of the sativa or indica varieties. Unlike hashish which is made from a dead cannabis plant, charas is made from live female flowers picked two to three weeks before full maturity.
It is said that Charas is much more expensive than Ganja.
As per detail the accused in this case, Mr. Pradeep is from Ferrargunj area was arrested by the CCS team consisting of SHO CCS, Inspector Mahesh Kumar Yadav, ASI Vijay Shankar and others. The raid was conducted under the overall supervision of Dy.S.P (CID) Jagdev Singh Yadav and SP(CID).
In last few months team of PS CCS virtually busted entire drug peddling racket of Andaman by arresting some prominent kingpins of Drug Peddlers of these Islands.
