Port Blair, Nov 23: Blood Donation Camp at JNRM was inaugurated by Capt Vijay Kumar Trivedi, Commanding Officer No 1 (AN) Naval Unit NCC by donating blood and led the Blood donation Drive. Col Vivekanand, Commanding Officer No 1(AN) Indep Inf Coy NCC appreciated the gesture of Capt Vijay Kumar Trivedi towards the Noble Cause and leading the drive. Sub Lieutenant (ANO) Dr Satyam Setia, who has already donated blood 86 times, congratulated Capt Vijay Kumar Trivedi for leading the Blood donation Camp by personal example and kick starting ‘Rakt Dan, Jeevan Dan Campaign’ in these islands.
Capt Vijay Kumar Trivedi said ‘Rakt Dan is a Mahadan’ and is biggest ‘Yogdan’ towards ‘Jeevan Dan’. Everyone should come forward to donate blood, so that it can be utilised by needy personnel. He thanked Principal JNRM, Dr. JD Singh for facilitating the Blood donation Camp. He lauded the ‘efforts and support’ of Andaman Aids Control Society (ANACS) in providing all the support towards blood donation camp despite COVID 19 Pandemic situation in Islands and contributing to the Nationwide Campaign by NCC. He also appreciated the PI Staff of both NCC Units, ANOs, Care takers and Staff of JNRM in coordinating the drive and rendering necessary support to the unit.
NCC Cadets of this Island were seen to be participating in ‘Rakt Dan, Jeevan Dan’ campaign enthusiastically and cheerfully.
