Port Blair, Nov 22: Zonal Fisheries Office Mayabunder , N & M Zone yesterday celebrated the World Fisheries Day in the Community Hall , Mayabunder.
Every year 21st November is celebrated as World Fisheries Day throughout the World and the Zonal Fisheries office Mayabunder yesterday celebrated this day with great pomp and joy.
On the occasion Dr. Angel Bhati Chauhan, IAS, DC, N& M Andaman was the Chief Guest and numeral dignitaries, renowned citizen and fisheries friends participated and witness this grand function maintaining the Covid-19 Protocols.
Shri Tapan Biswas, Assistant Director, N& M. Andaman Zone highlighted various developmental aspects of the fisheries Department of N&M Andaman Zone.
He also focused difficulties faced by the fisheries friend during the Covid19 pandemic and how the department extended the possible help to revive their economic conditions with the cooperation of N& M Andaman District Administration.
He said that the department always stands for the welfare and economic development of the fishing community of the region. He added that his department is working round the clock for the development of this fisheries industry.
The Chief Guest of the day also praised the Assistant Director and his team for their efforts to bring back the fisheries community again in their businesses activity. She also highlighted that how this fisheries can be a great economic industry of the region.
