Billyground, November 20: A 12-year-old boy, who ran away from home after getting a scolding from his parents yesterday evening, was rescued by a team of Billyground Police Station today.
As per reports, the minor boy is a resident of Middle Andaman area and after he went missing, his parents and other villagers started to look for him, but that yielded no results.
Considering the seriousness of the situation, the matter was reported to the Billyground Police Unit at 07:00 PM, following which a team under the leadership of Sub Inspector Agnes Bartholma started the search operation of the child under the directions of the SDPO Rangat, Mr. R.K.Sharma.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, SI Bartholma said that they first reached the house of the boy and after getting some inputs they started the search in the area, and nearby woods, but the search of different teams till 01:30 AM, yielded no results.
“We then took a two hours gap and again started the search at 03:30 AM and the continuous three and a half-hour search brought us success,” said SI Bartholma.
The child was said to have been found sitting under a tree that is 04-05 kilometers away from his uncle’s home. According to sources, the little boy was shivering due to the cold.
“We conducted counseling of the parents and the boy is fine now,” said SI Bartholma.
SI Bartholma expressed gratitude to her team consisting of Md. Raza, SI, ASI Suleman Beck, HC/316 Bhupinder Singh, PC/1028 Bernard Toppo, PC/2840 Sandeep Kumar, PC/1612 Garistin and PC/2799 Jitender Barick for their efforts in searching the child.
The villagers of the area also appreciated the efforts of the Police team headed by SDPO Rangat, Mr. RK Sharma.
