Port Blair, Nov 11: Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands have written a letter to the Minister of State for Home Affairs requesting him to direct the authorities of Andaman and Nicobar Administration to immediately relax and/or remove the Containment Zones in North and Middle Andaman District.
Mr. Ajoy Bairagi in his letter has mentioned that the people residing in North and Middle Andaman are seriously suffering a lot because of the declaration of large Containment Zones. He further informed the minister that these Containment Zones are in force for more than a month now. Mr. Ajoy Bairagi also explained that he had requested the A & N Administration for removal of the Containment Zones or to reduce the same from Macro to Micro Containment Zones by confining it to limited number of affected buildings, but that did not happen.
He informed the Minister that the residents of North and Middle Andaman are now totally frustrated and their level of frustration has crossed all limits now. He also mentioned that the people of North and Middle Andaman wholeheartedly supported the Bharatiya Janata Party in the last Lok Sabha Elections and has lots of hopes from the party.
Mr. Ajoy Bairagi requested the Minister to direct the appropriate authority in Andaman and Nicobar Administration to immediately relax and/or remove the Containment Zones of North and Middle Andaman.
After sending the letter Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Mr. Vishal Jolly, Former State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands also had a telephonic conversation with the Minister of State for Home Affairs, the Minister gave assurance that action will be taken on the issue immediately.
