Port Blair, Oct 13: With a view to help the patients suffering from cancer, particularly those in need of Chemotherapy, the Chakraborty Hospital, Port Blair has taken an initiative and established a Chemotherapy Unit in it premises at Dollygunj.
With this, the patients need not go to mainland repeatedly as they can now get chemotherapy in Chakraborty Hospital, which has tied up with Dr Salil Vijay Patkar M.B.B.S, M.D, D.M (Oncology) from Navi Mumbai, for the purpose. This benevolent initiative of Chakraborty Hospital will not only save the patients from the trouble of visiting mainland, along with an attendant, for chemotherapy many times, especially amidst this present health scenario, but will enable them save a lot of money as well. At the Chakraborty Hospital, the Chemotherapy patients need not even get admitted. They can receive Chemotherapy by visiting the hospital merely as OPD patient, and go home soon after the therapy is over, each time. A number of patients have already availed the services since the inception of this Unit. Patients can avail this all important service any time, 24*7.
As a humanitarian gesture, the charges of the process have been kept to the basic minimum, when compared to any such facility on the mainland.
