Port Blair, Oct 01: The Humphrey Gunj Police unit seized around 65 kilograms of venison yesterday. Following a tip off the police team of Humphrey Gunj comprising of Head Constable Basir, Head constable Bijoy, Police Constable Shiva, Sankar, PC Pandian, PC Kujur, LPC Sarooj, Driver Karthik under the leadership of Inspector Abdul Sajid, SHO Humphrey Gunj conducted a raid in the house of accused Mr. Tapan Mondal at 11:00 pm, who is a resident of Harpatabad and seized 03 plastic bags with venison.
As per reports, the accused tried to escape from the spot but failed. The accused was today handed over to the Forest Manglutan Range office for further investigation.
