Port Blair, Sept 23: The Zilla Parishad, South Andaman in a meeting held on 23.09.2020 at 3.30 PM has unanimously resolved to Stand Relieve the Chief Executive Officer of South Andaman, Zilla Parishad from the establishment of Zilla Parishad, sources confirmed today.
Following today’s meeting, the Chairperson of South Andaman, Zilla Parishad, Mr. Subir Chander in exercise of the powers conferred under section 151 of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands (Panchayat) Regulation 1994, has relieved the Chief Executive Officer of SA ZP, with immediate effect. As per details the link officer will look after the Charges of CEO, ZP SA till regular CEO is posted.
Insider told Andaman Sheekha that this extreme step was taken by South Andaman Zilla Parishad following some disagreement between the CEO and some members of SA ZP.
Sources said that during today’s meeting nine members of SA ZP were present while five other members recorded their support to this move via telephonic calls. More updates are awaited.
