Port Blair, September 18: Several Hunting traps have been removed in Jirkatang Range and Tirur Jarawa reserve area yesterday.
As per reports, a team of Jirkatang range comprising of Mr. Rama Rao, Forester, Mr. Samuel Andrew, Forester, Mazdoor namely Mr. Ajay Jiban, Mr. Jayapal, and Anoj conducted patrolling at Jirkatang number 03 under Jarawa reserve area and removed 36 hunting traps.
Meanwhile, a team of Tushnabad Range, Mr. Mohd Shabir, Forester, and mazdoor namely Mr. Eliza, Mr. Younus, Mr. Manick Halder, and Dinesh of AAJVS conducted patrolling inside the Tirur Jarawa reserve area and removed 16 Numbers of traps and rescued a spotted deer. The deer was later released in the forest.
Also, a team of Mobile Squad Range comprising of Mr. Uttam Kumar Mistry, Forest guard, Mr. KN Gangoly, Forest Guard, Mr. Tarakeshwar, Forest Guard, Mr. Veeraswamy of AAJVS conducted patrolling at Jirkatang number 03 in the eastern side and removed 93 numbers of Plastic traps.
The efforts of the Forest to rescue the wild animals by removing the traps have been highly appreciated by the denizens.
