Port Blair, Aug 18: During the time of Corona Pandemic case of yet another serious violation of PAT regulation has been reported from Kadamtala area.
A joint patrolling team of AAJVS and Kadamtala Police Station Staff while normal patrolling near Strait Island and Spike Island yesterday spotted a fishing dinghy near the shores of Tetul Tikry area. They also spotted some fishermen involved in fishing activities. The Tetul Tikry area falls under Jarawa Tribal Reserve, sources told Andaman Sheekha.
As per reports all eight accused were taken to the PS Kadamtala by the team where cases under appropriate sections were registered against them and they were arrested.
During Corona Pandemic when Administration is trying to keep Tribal People away from civil population as much as possible, such act of negligence by local poachers could prove deadly for the Tribal Population of Jarawa.
However, it is still not clear whether they made any physical contacts with Jarawa tribes in the region.
