Port Blair, July 24: Nearly 20 BJP workers and a few leaders, including Mr. Ajay Bairagi, the State President of Andaman Nicobar Unit of BJP, have been asked to remain home quarantine after son of one BJP leader was tested COVID19 positive.
According to sources, the son of the senior BJP leader attended a party meeting with his father in Dairy Farm area on 22nd July 2020 after which all the party members who attended the meeting were asked to remain home quarantine.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha over the phone, Mr. Ajay Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, A & N Islands said that the meeting in Dairy Farm was conducted after following all social distancing norms, however, after learning that the son of the senior BJP leader, who attended the meeting was found COVID-19 positive, “I among others who participated in the meeting isolated ourselves yesterday afternoon itself,” Mr. Bairagi added.
Andaman Sheekha has learned that around 20 BJP workers attended the meeting and all the participants have also been officially informed by the Tehsil and DC South Andaman Office to remain under home quarantine.
