Port Blair, July 13: Protesting against alleged unilateral decisions of Administration, the Andaman and Nicobar State Unit today decided to call for Andaman Bandh on 17 July 2020. On the same day the BJP is also planning a massive rally against Andaman and Nicobar Administration.
After yesterday’s protest of BJP A & N State Unit, today the party leaders called a core committee meeting during which this decision was taken.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha Mr. Ajay Bairagi, the State President of BJP requested people of Andaman and Nicobar Islands to support BJP in this protest.
“Party leaders spoke to senior leaders in centre yesterday. I spoke to them, Jolly ji and Bishnu ji spoke to them and after that we called a meeting today,” Mr. Ajay Bairagi said.
Meanwhile, in various remote Islands today BJP units organized massive protest against Administration.
Sources said that after today’s meeting many more agendas have been included for the protest, which was not mentioned during yesterday’s protest by BJP A & N State Unit president.
Insiders told Andaman Sheekha among other demands removal of Chief Secretary, Quarry Product Import issue etc will be main. It is expected that issues of Slow Internet, Dying Tourism Industry will also find place in BJP’s protest.
