Port Blair, July 01: A press conference was organized on behalf of the State Congress Committee on Wednesday at Gandhi Bhawan under the leadership of state party president Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma. Addressing the press conference, the party’s state spokesperson Mr. K. Ganeshan said that on one hand when the country is facing a terrible epidemic like Corona and on the other hand the Modi government has succumbed to China. “The Prime Minister’s statement on China is misleading to the country,” he said.
Mr. K. Ganeshan said that soldiers of our country are constantly fighting at border and giving befitting replies to Chinese incursions. He said that the Prime Minister is saying that China has not infiltrated our land, which is completely wrong. If this had not happened, how could our twenty soldiers have been martyred.
He accused the Modi government that the PM Care Fund has been setup after Covid19 outbreak, during the Corona crisis, in which Chinese companies have given more than 150 crore rupees.
“No one knows the constitution or the operational framework of the PM CARES Fund. No one knows how it is controlled or money given to it utilized. The fund is not even subjected to audit by any public authority including CAG. PMO has gone to the extent of saying this fund is not a public authority. PM CARES Fund is not even subjected to RTI. All in all, the Fund appears to be solely run by the Prime Minister in an opaque and secret fashion with zero transparency and zero accountability. Reports suggest that as on May 20, 2020 PM Modi has received Rs 9678 crores in the controversial fund. The shocking part is that though Chinese forces have transgressed into our territory, Prime Minister has received money in the Fund from Chinese companies.,” Mr Ganeshan added.
Mr. K Ganeshan along with Mr. A.Tamilselvan, Spokeperson, PCC also asked several other questions to the government during the press conference. He said that if the Prime Minister of India is taking hundreds of crores of rupees as contribution from Chinese companies then how will the Government will protect the country against Chinese intruders.
