Port Blair, June 07: On the occasion of completion of one year of the second term of Modi Government, a Press conference was held at the BJP party headquarters of A & N Islands today.
Addressing the media during the occasion, the State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Ajay Bairagi said that in the first year of the second term, the Modi government has worked for all section of people of the country. He said that soon Booklets stating the achievements of the Modi government in the last one year will be distributed door-to-door in the archipelago.
He said that on date more than 35 crores people are directly connected with the bank after the Prime Minister took the initiative of PMJDY. Women in crores received a sum of Rs. 500 during the time of the lockdown.
Mr. Bairagi further stated that Ujjwala scheme benefited more than 09 crore beneficiaries in the entire country, ten million people have got housing under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat has set a target to include 50 crore families under the scheme while till date around one crore beneficiaries have already taken the benefit of the scheme.
The State President further said that it will be easy to give citizenship to the minorities settled in the neighboring countries through the CAA bill and thousands of people have been benefited through CAA bill till now.
He said that the attitude of the administration during the lockdown was very dominating which should not have been the case.
Addressing the gathering Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, the former Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands said that the Government of India is paying full attention for development of these far flung Islands.
Mr. Ray gave details about various welfare schemes being run by the Government of India, which is benefit of people of India, including people of these Islands.
