Port Blair, June 07: Further addressing the press conference, the former State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Vishal Jolly said that the Modi government removed section 370 from Kashmir and respected the sentiments of millions in the first year of its second term.
“Since its removal, Jammu and Kashmir have truly become an integral part of India,” said Mr. Jolly.
Mr. Jolly further said that the Modi government through Swachh Bharat Abhiyan constructed thousands of toilets in states and union territories and made them open defecation free.
He further said that COVID warriors did a commendable job during ongoing Covid-19 crisis, however, he accused the administration of taking several unilateral decisions at the time of the lockdown.
“All states took various steps to bring back their people stranded in other states whereas the Andaman administration never took any concrete steps in this regard,” alleged Mr. Jolly.
He said that this was the first time in the history of the archipelago that in the summertime there was such a shortage of water. Political bills were brought several times in the past but the administration never let that happen in the UT and that’s the reason that the administration again failed to cater the basic need of water to the islanders.
Mr. Jolly further added that during the lockdown people suffered badly due to slow internet, whenever the administration was approached in this regard, the islanders were fooled as false assurances were given.
Mr. Jolly finally demanded the administration of providing high-speed internet service.
