Port Blair, Sep 18: Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, PCC has requested the Lt Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands to introduce Ph.D programmes in Arts, Commerce and Science groups at JNRM.
In a letter addressed to the Lt Governor, Mr Sharma has stated that he was requested by a group of students of Jawaharlal Nehru Rajakiya Vidyalaya, Port Blair today to approach the Lt Governor to consider for getting affiliation to offer the Ph.D programme in Arts, Commerce and Science groups for their better future prospects.
Accepting their request Mr Sharma said that “Most of the aspirants cannot go to mainland for acquiring this degree due to financial problems. JNRM college is having well equipped laboratories besides quality faculties who can guide such students in case the AN Administration takes up the issue with the Pondicherry University,” Mr Sharma added.
Further Mr Sharma has also requested the Lt Governor to introduce M.Sc (Zoology) in JNRM from the next session so that the B.Sc (Zoology) students may opt for further education from JNRM itself. He has also requested for introduction of many more new subjects, which Pondicherry University is offering but not included in the JNRM or Mahatma Gandhi Colleges.
