Port Blair, Sep 18: Mr Bishnu Pada Ray, Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands today demanded payment of relief to the rain affected persons of Mahavir Nagar as per MHA circular.
In a letter addressed to the Lt Governor, AN Islands, MP stated that on visiting the Mahavir Nagar in Prothrapur village under Prothrapur Panchayat on 13.09.2012 he had personally witnessed that due to the Heavy Rain of 07.09.2012 the area was flooded.
“The residents of the area sustained many losses,” Mr Bishnu added.
MP further also demanded for a proper survey in a transparent manner as per CRF/NCCF may be conducted with the help of Pradhan and concerned Ward Member and the Damage Assessment Report be placed to the Gram Sabha for objection and claims.
