Port Blair, May 13: Mrs. Sampa Banerjee, UTCPCR Member has expressed her sincere gratitude to the Education Department for considering her request and instructing all the private unaided schools of Andaman and Nicobar Islands for not charging fees from the parents/ Students.
Mrs. Sampa Banerjee earlier on 28th April 2020 had requested the Education Department to exempt fees for students studying in Private Schools following the financial crunch due to the COVID-19 impact.
According to Mrs. Banerjee, the matter was taken into consideration and on 10th May 2020 the Education Department issued an order to all private unaided schools of Andaman and Nicobar Islands to not charge a fee, except tuition fee, from the parents/students, Heads of schools / Managers shall not demand and collect the tuition fee from the parents/students on a quarterly basis. The fee shall be collected on a monthly basis only.
The Department also instructed to not increase any fee in the academic session 2020-2021. The department also instructed to ensure providing access to digital education facilities/materials/classes to all the students, without any discrimination and several other important instructions were given until further orders.
