Port Blair, March 29: Internet speed in the offices of some top officers of A & N Administration is said to be extraordinarily high since last few days, as according to the general public, the speed test for the OFC laid recently is configured only for these VIPs.
According to Islanders, if this is true then this is a total injustice with them. “The BSNL must have tested the OFC speed with the entire residents of the Islands and in return, they must have taken the feedback from the islanders,” said an Islander.
When Andaman Sheekha contacted the Chief General Manager, BSNL, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Murali Krishna, he refuted the allegation and said that the testing is on for the equipments in the main exchange at Port Blair since the first week of March. “BSNL is not carrying any ‘speed testing’ of the OFC laid recently,” Mr. Krishna said.
He added that BSNL was planning to extend the fast internet from OFC by April end but now, as per present circumstances, it is not possible till the lockdown is over.
I feel like this is a kind of injustice
In mainland people are able to cope up with this lock down with the help of internet
And bsnl is making excuses for not doing there job
It’s well know that people in this island are starving for high speed internet for so like long but good Knows for what reason they are making us wait
The company buid the ofc cable In matters of days and connected Chennai to andaman in couple of days
And look at our bsnl’s CGM he is making excuses on the name or covid 19
I m sad bcos I have to wait till 1:00am to use internet which is nothing
Very where telecome service is considered as essential service
But I can’t understand why our CGM sir is thinking that he is not one of them
To be true I m shamed to say that we all lost hope in bsnl
And why not they only know how to make excuses that all they do

At this unfortunate situation of COVID-19 BSNL should start high speed internet,Because at home many peoples getting frustrated because of the situation, They are sneaking outside the home… It could be the major problem…….
