Port Blair, Feb 24: The International Mother Tongue (Language) day was celebrated on the 21st February 2020 at Mr. Hari Mandir premises, near water sports complex, Sippighat, South Andaman at 6 PM by the committee members of the popular registered cultural organizations namely Bangla Sanskriti Parishaad, Shree Shree Hari Guru Chand Sanskritik Sangha and Andaman Sanskriti Parishad.
Swami Prassanananda Avadhut (preacher in India and abroad), Ananda Marga was the chief guest and Mr. Birendra Kishore Talukdar (LG Commendation Awardee) was the guest of honor in the said cultural event, further Mr. Anadi Ranjan Biswas (prominent writer and literature), Mr. S.R Baul (Ret. Head Master) and Dr.R.C.Kar held the chair as the special guest.
The welcome speech was delivered by Mr. Sudhir Biswas, (General Secretary, SSHGCSS & ASP) and Dr.R.C.Kar, Mr. Anadi Ranjan Biswas, Mr. Ashim Bhattacharjee(teacher) also delivered the valuable speech about the significance of International Mother Language day in the said occasion. Further Mr. K.P.Biswas (Head Master) and Smti. Kalyani Halder (teacher) recited their self composed poem on INMT day.
Beside that various cultural activities like, recitation of poem, various songs and dances (by children) were performed by the local artists. The whole cultural program was compared by Smti Saraswathi Mistry and the program ended with vote of thanks, proposed by Mr. Mahananda Gomasts (prominent artist and honorable Lt. Governor Commendation awardee). The Anna Prasad was distributed to the participants and audiences at the end of the said program.
