Port Blair, Feb 20: There is good news for the residents of Great Nicobar and nearby Islands; soon the Directorate of Shipping Services will position a speed boat in the Great Nicobar Island for easy movement of people travelling to nearby Islands.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha today, the Deputy Director Shipping Services, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr R Veeraih said that the department is working hard to position a speed boat in the Great Nicobar Islands for easy movement of travellers to nearby Islands like Macca Chua and Afrabay.
“Our efforts are on to position the speed boat in another 15- 20 days so that these Islands get a regular boat service,” said Mr R Veeraih.
This was a long pending demand of the residents of Great Nicobar Islands and after fulfilment of the demand it will bring a big relief for the residents of these Islands.
