Port Blair, Jan 27: Directorate of Health Services, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Administration Port Blair has organized a two days free Cardiology Camp at GB Pant Hospital Port Blair from 25th to 26th January 2020. In the Camp eminent Cardiologist Dr. Ramakanta Panda and his team of experts will benefit the cardiac patients of the Islands.
Dr. Ramakanta Panda is considered as one of the best heart surgeons in India with 99.7% success rate in bypass surgery. He is Chief Consultant Cardio Vascular Thoracic, Asian heart Institute and have performed over 20,000 cardiac surgeries. Dr. Panda is honoured with the “Padama Bhusan” India’s third highest Civilian Award.
It is first cardiac camp in Andaman by such a eminent Cardiologist. Dr. Omkar Singh, Director Health Services, Dr. A.K.Mondal, Director ANIIMS and Shri Kulanand Joshi, MD ANIIDCO welcomed Dr. Panda and his team on 25th January 2020 at GB Pant Hospital. The medical camp will greatly help the cardiac patients who do not afford to go to consult the best Cardiologist in mainland.
On 25th January 2020 about 80 patients have been screened and checked up by the team of Dr. Panda consisting of Dr. Santosh Kumar Dora, Dr. Asifa Sheik and Dr. Rishtia Naidu, Cardiologists. All the patient screened on 25th January 2020 will be given necessary advice and treatment by the eminent Cardiologist Dr. Panda on 26th January 2020. These cardiac patients will be very lucky to have the benefits of such a highest caliber and experienced Cardiologist. The conducting of such type medical camp will definitely the boon for the cardiac patients of the Islands as there is no superspeciality cardiac facility in the Islands.
Dr. Panda and his team will also interact with Doctors and Medical students on management of cardiac cases and its modern approach on 26th January 2020. It will greatly motivate the doctors and medical students community of the Islands to upgrade their skills and knowledge for dealing with cardiac patients.
