Port Blair, Sept 05: Andaman Sheekha on 05.09.2012 edition reported about the arrest of Anil Kumar Sharma Panchayat Secretary, Sita Nagar Gram Panchayat, Diglipur for demanding a bribe of Rs.5,000/- from a Contractor for making payment of the 10% Security Deposit held by him in his running bills.
Today the SP of Andaman’s CBI unit , Mr. P K Mankar told media that SMS Campaigning, started by CBI has actually led to arrest of Anil Sharma.
“The trap was the result of the SMS campaigning launched by the CBI for the general public to come forward and lodge complaints against public servants demanding bribe for doing official work,” the SP said in a press release.
The CBI team headed by Dy. Supdt. of Police caught Mr. Anil Sharma red handed on 04.09.2012 at Diglipur while demanding and accepting the bribe and the tainted money was recovered from his possession. Mr. Anil Sharma has been arrested and will be produced before the Special Judge for CBI Cases, Port Blair.
