Billyground, Dec 27: In yet another case of death of elephants, a feral elephant (male) aged nearly 19 years was found dead on a private land in a remote village of Diglipur region, Krishnapur. On report from Pradhan of Sitapur Panchayat Pradhan, authorities reached the spot and later carried out the post mortem. There no report of any injuries marks on the body of the said Elephant.
After post mortem the body was buried in forest but details of Post Mortem has not been made public yet and hence cause of death is still not known. It is reported that as soon as the matter became public, many people from nearby villages visited the spot to see the dead elephant.
Earlier, last month a 21 year old Elephant of Kalighat range, namely Raj Bahadur was found dead in forest.
