Port Blair, Dec 27: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament was informed by various members of the Consumers Cooperative Stores Ltd (CCS) that the last date for up-dating the membership of CCS has been fixed on 30th December, 2019 and requested the Member of Parliament to intervene in the matter to get the date for updating the membership extended. Accordingly the Member of Parliament has requested to the Secretary, Consumers Cooperative Stores Ltd for extension of date for updating of membership. Member of Parliament has mentioned that more than 24000 members of the Society are residing at various parts of the Islands and many of them have no information about the ongoing updating of the membership and he felt it necessary that the last date of 30th December, 2019 be extended at least by a period of one month and for easiness of the updating of the membership, necessary instructions may be given to all the Branch Managers of the CCS to give wide publicity in the respective area regarding the ongoing process so that more and more members get their membership updated.
